Enchanted Column is a site-specific light installation using the structure of a steal cross-shaped column filled with light and holographic and multilense material. This middle column is where opposites dissolve and harmony is restored. Simbolising Moses’ column of fire that protected his people in Exodus, as the central Pillar of the Tree of Life denoted as the Pillar of Hercules or Equilibrium, it becomes symbolic of a supporting light, protecting and embracing the weak and oppressed, be they from any race, cast, gender or background so that everyone may have equity of circumstances. Light has a spiritual connotation of leading the needed into the path of solace akin to the Kabbalistic paths of communion with God’s elements (Sephiroth) who support the devotee and guides him/her into Oneness.
Enchanted Column was exhibited at the Candid Arts Trust Gallery on the “Frame” exhibition, London, UK
